I returned to my home town of Merthyr (& also Dowlais Elim Family Church) early summer 2000 after 11 years living away, and at the end of 2 years caring for people living on the streets of Birmingham, UK, who were struggling with life issues through substance misuse. My experience of God amazingly providing for my and their needs through prayer, with no regular source of income, encouraged me to share this real, every day, relationship with Jesus with many people.

These experiences particularly directed my focus to the potential and possibilities for children and young people to embrace life as the incredible adventure God designed, hoping they would also encounter Jesus for themselves from an early age. I believe children are the church of today and since 2002 have been involved in leading children & youth ministry at DEFC.

Supported by the church, I spend most week days in local schools in the Dowlais area, helping in class, presenting assemblies and lessons, also being a member of a multi-talented children’s team who host kid’s clubs, family nights, Sunday children’s church, family weekends and a variety of other activities.
